Team Rosters
- Team roster must be submitted before the teams first scheduled game. Team roster is limited to 12 players. A teams roster becomes official and frozen at the end of the teams second game. All players shall play for only one team. Players must play at least 2 games to be eligible for playoffs. Teams will not be permitted to participate until all fees have been paid.
- All teams must wear basketball jerseys during their games. Each jersey must have the same color and they must have numbers. Basketball shoes must be worn. All jewelry must be removed. Necklaces, earrings, watches or plastic/rubber wristbands can not be worn during the game. (Failure to comply will result in a technical foul)
- The team coaches are entirely responsible to make sure that their players fully understand tournament rules and regulations. All coaches are responsible for having legal proof of Filipino/Asian Blood. For the 6'2 foot and under division, a 6'2 foot marker will be available before the game to measure any player that may look over 6'2 feet tall.
- Each participating team must have a team Captain. All players must have signed a wavier/liability form and an official roster sheet prior to the start of the first game.
- Two (2) non-Filipino/Asian are allowed per team, Both cannot play simultaneously.
Playing Rules
- A game will consist of two (2) twenty minute halves with a running clock in the first half and the clock stopping for timeouts and every whistle in the last two (2) minutes of the second half.
- Each team will have Two (2) thirty (30) second timeouts per half. Timeouts do not carry over.
If the game ends in a tie, there will be a two (2) minute overtime with the clock stopping on all whistles during the last minute only. Each team is allowed one (1) 30 second time out in over time. - The game will begin with a jump ball.
- After the initial jump ball, all jump balls will be determined by a possesion arrow.
- Personal and technical fouls will be recorded for all players. Players foul out of the game upon committing their fifth foul.
- Foul shots: two point shots – two (2) free throws, three point shots – three (3) free throws.
- Non-shooting fouls: No free throws until the seventh team foul is committed. On the seventh team foul a one-and-one situation will be assessed. On the tenth team foul, two free throws will be awarded.
- Technical fouls – two free throws and possession of the ball.
- On free throw attempts, no player may enter the key until the release of the ball. There will be a maximum of Three (3) defensive players and two (2) offensive players allowed to occupy lane linespaces.
- Players entering the game must report to the scorer’s table and wait until the official signals them into the game (no exceptions).
- Sportsmanship – The game officials are in control of the game and may not be abused in any manner. The recreation staff fully supports the officials. A player that is ejected from a game will serve an automatic one game suspension, a second ejection will warrant permanent suspension from the tournament. Inappropriate language will not be tolerated and may result in a technical foul.
- Teams must wear the same color jersey/shirt with a number on the back.
- Teams must start and play with at least (4) four players. Failure to do so will result in a forfeit.
Conduct
- All participants, coaches and spectators shall refrain from using profanity or verbal abuse towards other players, coaches, spectators, referees and the tournament staff.
- This is a Drug and Alcohol Free Event. No alcoholic beverages or drugs are allowed on the premises. Any coach or player(s) engaged in the use of alcohol or drugs will be disqualified from further participation in the tournament.
- Team coaches will be responsible for the conduct of their players. Teams and spectators shall abide by the tournament rules and regulations.
- No food or beverages are allowed in the gymnasium. Only water and sport drinks will be permitted.
- The Tournament Director and the tournament staff are not responsible for any personal items that are left behind, lost or stolen.
Fighting
- Fighting is an attempt to strike an opponent with the arms, hands, legs, feet or a combative action by one or more players, a coach or other team personnel. Any member or team personnel who participate in a fight shall be immediately suspended from the game for the duration to be determined by the Tournament Director and their Associates.
- Let it be known that spectators and visitors who too elect to involve themselves in a fight during a game, will be suspended from the facility for a length of time to be determined by the Tournament Director and their Associates.
- Should any team, player(s) or coach be disqualified from tournament play, there will be no refunds.
Protest Procedure
- Only the opposing teams coach/captain who is playing the scheduled game can protest a player’s eligibility. Player eligibility protest must be taken to the scorer’s table before the start of the game. All coaches are responsible for having legal proof of Filipino/Asian Blood. For the 6 foot and under division, a 6 foot marker will be available before the game to measure any player that may look over 6 feet tall.
- The game will not be stopped to handle the protest. If the player(s) show up late and the opposing teams coach/captain wants to protest the player(s). That protest will take place at half time only. If the player(s) being protested at half time is over the 6 foot marker then the player(s) cannot enter the game and that team will be charged with a technical foul. As a result, the opposing team will get two free throws and the ball.
Tournament Director
The Tournament Director has the right to alter rules, bylaws and bracket structure as needed
